Another type of scooter that the kids really like. It lets them do circles and keep going without putting foot on the ground. It isn't like the adult model that generates real speed or lets you go uphill, but the kids really like it (neighbors come over a lot to use it too). The brake is useless, but it isn't needed either (you can't go that fast to need it).

The Goped Knowped is a self-powered push scooter crafted for adults. Created in 1997 and inspired by the original Sport gas-powered scooter, the Know Ped has all the design features of the Sport without the motor. Handcrafted from the same high quality aircraft grade materials that all Go-Peds are made from, the Know-Ped is strong, durable and portable. It stands out as the new standard in push scooter design and construction.
Very well built, tough, great ride. Easy to ride even for someone who's never ridden one as a kid. Got this to give my dog a better workout during afternoon walks, and now we both get a great workout.
I'm 45, 6'5" tall. After shopping for various electric and gas scooters, decided to get this because I read that for 1-2 mile distances, this was all you needed. It is! Half the weight of any gas or electric scooter.
I've had the KnowPed for about a year, and also got a Xootr Mg last month, after reading that the Xootr "goes 3-4 times as far on a flat surface, with the same number of kicks". That may be, but as I discovered, most people don't ride on a perfectly smooth, flat surface, but on streets and sidewalks, and there, the Xootr's better glide makes little difference. The Xootr's lower deck helps kicking a little, but over a 1-2 mile loop, the overall effort is the same. Except for sections where a lot of braking is needed, and there, the... Read more

It just came Fed-ex today. Pulled it out the box -- raised the bar and it snapped into position -- voila!! Step on and coasted across the living room. Wow! Big. Sturdy. Rolls nice. Brakes nice. I'm nearly 300lbs and feel safe, stable and supported on this lovely blue scooter. Now I can join my 7yr old with his razor A for scoots around the neighborhood! Can't wait for my wife to check it out. I think she will want one too. So far so good. If anything bad happens... or more good... I'll be back to update this for sure. But so far very pleased.
UPDATE... OK. That was fun. A bit of a workout in the 90 degree heat today. Me and the kid cruised up and down the block a few times. The deck on this thing is nice and wide, so I was able to coast with both feet next to each other and then switch feet for pushing when one got tired. Folds up much quicker and easier than the razor(I had to struggle with that) and then it's easy to carry up the stairs to our 2nd floor flat.

This review is from: Go-Ped Know-Ped Kick Scooter (Multiple Colors) (Sports)
It's well made and durable but it's just not very stable. When riding it down a hill I felt as though even a minor bump in the road could send me tumbling if I didn't pump the break and slow to a crawl. The mechanism to keep the scooter folded is also very unreliable. It's basically a small hook that hangs loose from the handle that grabs the rear fender. If you try to hold it by the steering shaft it will eventually unhook and unfold, possibly hurting someone.

This review is from: Razor E300S Seated Electric Scooter (Sports)
This seated Razor scooter is very well constructed, and even though it has only been test-driven one time because of adverse weather conditions, it seems to reach an adequate top speed. However: if planning to purchase the E300S Razor, be aware that the scooter will only operate for a maximum of forty (40) minutes, after which it takes at least eight (8) hours of recharging to prepare it for another forty (40) minutes of use. It is also noted in the directions that the two (2) 12 volt batteries can be recharged about 200 times before they have to be replaced. This means if the scooter is used and recharged every day, the batteries will have to be replaced in just a little over six (6) months. These are two things that need to be considered before making a purchase.

I got this scooter about 1 month ago, a little more. So far I am very pleased with it. The scooter is very easy to control, actually there is nothing really comlplicated about it. It is advertised as being able to go only 15 mph but I have clocked it at 19.7 mph. Only one reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the charger. The scooter when fully charged only holds its charge for only about 45 minutes. I have also heard from a reliable source that after about 200 charges the battery goes out and you need to buy a new one. This is still a great scooter and is a good value.

Now that I've had the scooter for a couple of weeks, I feel it's a good time to write a review.
I'm in college. I'm 5'3" and weigh 118 pounds. This scooter is the perfect size for me. In fact, like another reviewer who is my height said, my feet almost don't touch the ground when I'm sitting on the seat. So please keep that in mind if you are thinking of purchasing this scooter for a child.
This scooter is powerful and fast. It easily makes it up average hills. It will not climb steep hills but you can help it along by kicking.
The battery lasts a long time for me. I haven't kept time, but I can make it around town and back and still have charge left. It's easy to combine coasting and power to make the battery last longer.
The handlebars don't adjust in height. It's a big scooter. It weighs 60 pounds. You will need to leave it outside when you reach your destination, so you'll need a good lock.
